If you are new to Lighthouse for Students or know us already we are so appreciative of your interest now and your continued support.
Last week was likely the most impactful and important week in the two years since we started this amazing journey and I truly believe it would not have happened without your support.
On Wednesday of last week, we participated at Worthing High School in a truly remarkable event with the students, faculty and Houston Police Department. This was a truly amazing moment for these students and officers and we were so thrilled to just be a part of this impactful moment. Here is a link to the Houston Chronicle story with video and photos:
The following day Michael Berry, Houston’s most known and popular radio host reacted to the story and spent all of his Thursday morning show, part of his Thursday afternoon and his Friday shows talking about Worthing High School and Lighthouse for Students. I was fortunate enough to be on with Michael for almost 70 minutes, discussing what we do and the impact we are making with the students and faculty. He also interviewed Principal Khalilah Campbell Rhone who praised our work in the school and told the story of how challenging but also how rewarding the work in Worthing High School can be.

This entire Podcast is worth a listen as Dr. Campbell gives great insight to what’s going on in Sunnyside at Worthing High School. But if you are short on time start at 36 minutes to hear Dr. Campbell and 1:09 to hear about Lighthouse For Students.
The response to all of this last week has seen many new donors, supporters and volunteers step forward to help with our work. While their support will go a long way to help us move forward with the mission and goals we could not have moved to this point without YOU and the tremendous support you have given us financially, with your time and most importantly your prayers. THANK YOU!
I am personally so grateful of your support and hope we can continue to partner on making an impact and changing lives for these deserving children of God. I am reminded of the power of each individual through Luke 17:21.
“Once having been asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied,’ The kingdom of God does not come from your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is’ or “There it is’ because the Kingdom of God is within you.”
Thank you again and if there is anything I can do to help you tell the story of Lighthouse for Students or if you want to know how to support us please let me know directly.
